March 2016 DIY Project: Generic Planner Glam-Up

Materials:
El cheapo generic planner from National Bookstore for about P230.00
Elmer's Glue
Water
Small Jar - any vessel for the decoupage glue mixture
Brush - I used brush for this project but a better alternative is a make-up applicator foam - the triangle type.
Stickers - die cut stickers for the flowers; punched white stickers for the polka dots
Puncher - for punching white sticker polka dots & for punching a hole for the rivet to hold the charm
Rivet (optional)
Charm on a chain (optional) - any planner charm
Time - mostly for the glue drying time

Decoupage Glue (el cheapo version):  A mixture of Elmer's Glue & water.  The popular mixture is 1:1 meaning 1 part of glue mixed with 1 part of water.  If you use 1/4 cup of glue you should dissolve it in 1/4 cup of water.  Don't ask me how much I used, my measuring system is a tad of this and a bit of that.  I just diluted the Elmer's Glue in water and eye-balled it to the consistency that I like... to an evaporated milk consistency ;)

Process:
Wipe the planner clean.
Plan where you want to place the stickers.
Carefully adhere the stickers.
When you're happy with the sticker layout... apply the first coat of decoupage glue using your brush or foam.
Let it dry for about 3 hours in summer... or overnight during the rainy season (can't be more precise than that).
Apply the second coat of decoupage glue mixture.  Let it dry again... same drying time.  Read a book or watch your favorite tele-novela.
Then apply the third and last coat.  Then leave it to dry.
Optional step: Punch a hole on the planner strap, attach a rivet and your choice of planner charm.
The End :)
